Particle was a visualization in Windows Media Player formerly known as "Dotplane" in Windows Media Player 7, and "Particle" in 7.1 through 10. It was a flat, squared-shaped grid with red, purple, blue, and cyan dots. Unfortunately, it was removed in version 11 due to DXE problems. Other visualizations that were removed were Ambience, Musical Colors, Plenoptic, and Spikes.
